NHRA Carolina Nationals Winners

The NHRA Carolina Nationals is one of the many 3 days races on the NHRA tour. This race however was a 2 day deal, with rain pending on Sunday, NHRA made a good call running all eliminations for the sportsman on Saturday. There were some important races, and as the season whines down and the points tighten, every round win could decide a championship. In Stock, Allison Doll needs to win 2 rounds to take the lead for the national Stock championship. Steve Comella needs to win 5 rounds to take the lead for the Super Stock national championship.

 

Comp: Frank Aragona over Elio Mannino

Aragona is the number 1 qualifier and has the performance advantage. Mannino has taken out some heavy hitters. Any hopes of Mannino taking out the number 1 qualifier has gone by the waste side as Mannino goes red. This is Aragona’s 13 NHRA national event win.

 

Super Stock: Robbie Draugon over James Daniels

Daniels is trying to double up, he is also in the finals of  Stock. Draugon is in his first final and runs dead with a .006, Daniels has no room at the stripe to get in on the win. Draugon gets the win, his first NHRA national event.

 

Stock: James Daniels over Cody Phillips

Daniels has been hammering the tree all week, and is trying to double. Daniels is .001, Phillips is .058, there is just no room for Phillips. Daniels takes the stripe and the win. This is Daniels first final round and his first NHRA national event win.

 

Super Comp: Jonathan Anderson over Michelle Furr

Anderson is on time with .013, Furr is .039 and has his work cut out for him. Anderson’s math adds up to give him all he needs to take the win. This is Anderson’s 4 NHRA national event win.

 

Super Gas: John Labbous Jr. over Sherman Adcock

Labbous and Adcock are no strangers to the winner circle. Labbous is .010 on the tree, Adcock is .034. Its a .005 stripe, but Acdock is on the wrong end and brakes out by .002. Labbous gets his 7 NHRA national event win.

 

Top Dragster: Kevin Brannon over Brook Warren-Foley

Both drivers are on time, both drivers are breaking out, and both drivers are on the wood. When the dust settles and the math is done, Brannon is on top. Foley brakes out but .020 while Brannon brakes out by .011. Brannon gets 1st NHRA national event win.
