After a long and successful career in the big dollar bracket ranks, the Manpower backed Collier Racing Team turned their attentions to the NHRA Lucas Oil Tour a few seasons ago. Success quickly followed. Steve Collier closed the 2014 season ranked ninth nationally in the Super Gas category, and the team accumulated five NHRA event victories in six final round appearances. Already, the 2015 season has provided similar results.

Steve Collier drove his familiar Manpower backed Vega to a Super Gas runner-up finish at the NHRA O’Reilly Auto Parts Spring Nationals in Houston, TX. Weeks later, he wheeled his Manpower dragster to another runner-up, this time at the NHRA Kansas Nationals in Topeka, KS. In addition, Collier has enjoyed steady success on the Lucas Oil divisional tour. So much success, in fact, that he has earned the right to represent the NHRA South Central Division in the prestigious JEGS All-Stars competition, to be held in conjunction with the NHRA Route 66 Nationals near Chicago, IL in early July.

“We’ve had a good season thus far,” Collier expressed. “We’ve found a good combination in most of the cars, and for the most part we’ve driven well. Hopefully we can build on this momentum going forward. The JEGS All-Stars deal is great – it’s an honor to qualify for the event, and we’re really looking forward to that.”

At their most recent divisional event, in Tulsa, OK, the Collier team was in the midst of another great outing: team members Steve and Jackson Collier were both still in competition in both Super Comp and Super Gas when rains forced the completion of the event to be postponed. In addition to success on the NHRA circuit, the Manpower backed team has also enjoyed a return to its winning ways on the bracket tour. Steve has already earned a $2,000 victory and was in another final (which was split), both at Prescott Raceway in Prescott, AR.

In addition to Manpower, the Collier Racing Team wished to recognize a handful of quality manufacturers for their role in the team’s continued success: BRODIX Cylinder Heads, Advanced Product Design (APD), Afco shocks, DragstersForSale.com, Sunset Performance Engines, Hughes Performance, Mickey Thompson Tires, Meziere Enterprises, and Don O‘Neal.
