Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, Norwalk, OH – Winners
As the the rigs pulled in to the Summit Motorsports Park, in Norwalk, OH, they were not sure if they were going to park or get turned away. It was raining days before the race and still coming down as the rigs started to arrive. Summit Motorsports Park is arguably the best facility on the NHRA tour. The Bader family is well respected by the racers and fans for giving the best possible racing experience.
They did not let the racer down, even with the poor condition caused by the rain. As the rigs arrived, they were pulled into the pro side of the pits. Stacked 5 wide and 30 deep they methodically park every rig in a timely manner. The staff was constantly letting everyone know what was going on with updates as the racers waited to be parked. The NHRA tech was very accommodating, they tech the cars at the racers trailers and extended the cut off time until 7:00 pm. NHRA also opened tech an hour early and delayed they start time by one hour on the first day of racing to accommodate any racers that were inconvenienced by the weather.
What looked like a possible wash out for the sportsman pits turned out to be a non issue thanks the staff and officials at the Summit Motorsports Park.
