Peter Biondo brings home his 7th world championship. Now 5 in Super Stock and 1 in Stock and 1 in Super Gas. Peter out of Maspeth, NY along with long time partner Phil Monteith take home their 5th Super Stock World Championship. Peter won two racers early in the season, the division race in Phoenix and the National event in Vegas actually doubling up with a win in Stock also. Peter tells me “ Here we go, its going to be another one of those years” meaning when he is lucky enough to get a good start like this he has to go for it.

Peter’s work schedule keeps him busy and trying to win a championship can be challenging. It looked as if Peter was going to make a run in Stock also with two wins in his first 5 races, but it was not to be. Peter added two more wins at Atlanta and at the Maple Grove division and a runner up at the Englishtown divisional keeping him in the number one spot in Super Stock. Peter’s 690 points gave him a commanding lead to number 2 Jimmy Defank. Jimmy was mathematically still in the hunt. Peter knows how tough a driver Jimmy is and did not take his lead lightly, knowing Jimmy could catch him, butt Jimmy lost in the 4th round at the NHRA National in Vegas securing Peter’s Championship. To date Peter has 48 nationals wins along with 7 world championships, he also has 14 divisional titles.
