Texas Motorplex – Texas NHRA Fall Nationals Winners

 

The Fall Nationals at the Texas Motorplex was hot, dry and dusty for many of the sportsman. Summer like weather with low humidity made the pits dusty, but in true sportsman fashion, the race went on with out a hitch. Battles for the championships are heating up and the pressure is on. Every race and every round has meaning. Its not just wining the race, its getting the points for the elusive sportsman championships.

 

Comp:

Craig Bourgeois and Clint Neff qualified number 1 and 2, with Clint taking the number 1 spot. Graig is battling for the National points lead. Graig’s .007 light and .650 under was no match for Clint’s very respectable .038 and .639 under. Graig takes the Comp points lead and wins his 6 NHRA national event.

 

Super Stock:

Aaron

Aaron Stanfield takes on Kevin Stubbs, Kevin has trouble and slows giving Aaron the win. Both drivers had good lights, .030 for Kevin and .032 for Aaron. Aaron gets his first NHRA national win.

 

Stock:     

 Jimmy

Jimmy Hildalgo Jr. and Slate Cummings go for it on a double breakout race. Both drivers have similar lights, Jimmy is .039 to Slate’s .036. Its drivers race at the finish line, Jimmy lets Slate have the stripe and breakouts out by less. Jimmy was .016 under to Slate’s .039 under. Jimmy gets his 2nd NHRA national event win.

 

Super Comp:

Chris

Chris LeBlanc racing Randy Prewitt, Chris is .002 on the tree and Randy is .011. Chris has a 11 thou package giving Randy very little room to get in on. Randy breaks out by .010 and Chris gets his 3rd NHRA national event win.

 

Super gas:

Tommy p

Tommy Phillips and Tommy Maedgen go through 7 rounds of tough competition to meet in the finals. Phillips is .005 on the tree to Maedgen’s .029. Phillips gets the strip and the win over a breaking out Maedgen. Tommy Phillips gets his 34th NHRA national event win.

 

Top Sportsman:

Monte

Monte Green and Daniel Leibham battling it out, Monte is .075 on the tree to Daniel’s .055. Monte runs closer to his dial in,  .016 over to Daniel’s .037 over. Monte gets his 1st NHRA National event win.

 

Top Dragster:

Lynn E

Lynn Ellison gets the win when J.R. Baxter goes red with an oh so close .003. Lynn runs it out and goes .004 under with a .025 light making this a tough race even if J.R. goes green. Lynn gets his 7th NHRA national event win.
