Amen. I've raced it all - NHRA, IHRA, AHRA, NDRA, 1/4 mile, 1/8 mile, 1000 ft., staged tree, pro tree, flagman. All kinds of rules - no breakout, 1/10 second breakout, dial your own, nat'l records. You put the car on the line and race to the other end. A winner is a winner, and a loser is a loser. A 10.70 is a 10.70 whether it is a half second over or a second under. Being treated with respect and decency goes a long way.

"Provisional entries (Gold, Silver, past world and past event champions) will not be allowed to re-enter after withdrawing.
Bronze Card holders will no longer be guaranteed entry. Bronze card holders must enter prior to the category reaching quota. "

Some of these changes, fortunately, will NOT impact those of us with a Rust Card!

To set the record straight! I posted a question on the driver change in Pomona because we were told at another race that we could not do a driver change unless medical or family emergency period! I was wondering why then it was allowed to be done there. Jim did not call NHRA at all! He sucked it up as they do what they want when they want and there is nothing we can do about it.

Jim was curious how Mike Crutchfield is able to drive Lee Sharp's SS car. Mike was not entered and Lee was. We thought you can't do a driver change unless an emergency( medical or family). Lee is feeling well enough to drive comp!

It was posted on SS. Again, things that make you go hmmmm. Is NHRA trying to cover their butt for some interesting calls their people are making at some events?
Mike Crutchfield was racing for a position in the top ten. He was guaranteed entry into the World Finals just like if he had a gold card. Driver change was one of several options he had. This situation is only for the World Finals.

Tracey,
Never ever questioning Jim's intentions. Just calling out NHRA for the poor choice. Since Mike already had an in for top 10, (legal late entry) why did NHRA have to cloud it up by switching drivers with Lee? There was no emergency for Lee to drop one car, the call was totally up to division director. Just think now they want to cover their (NHRA) butt. Didn't mean to imply you guys called and complained. I know that's not how ya'll roll!

Its not that I have anything at all against IHRA, but I will stick it out where I am at. You go ahead and support your league that loves you, and I will continue to get "enhanced" by mine.
Chad Im just curious as to what kind of car you drive?,

Michelle,
I just wanted to make sure that just because I vented on this forum people knew that the rules changes weren't because of us. In fact some of the 2009 rule changes listed were suppose to already be in effect this year.

Thanks Joe and Marc! Happy Thanksgiving to all !
