This started as a thread to explain the new changes involving online entries, withdrawls, etc. But the IHRA guys have chimed in and turned the thread into a "why not come race with us???" We know your there, we just don't want to. Just like I don't like crate motored stockers, and don't care to understand why you have SS/PZA2D2. Its not that I have anything at all against IHRA, but I will stick it out where I am at. You go ahead and support your league that loves you, and I will continue to get "enhanced" by mine.

I greatly appreciate your honesty, Chad. I've seen plenty of the "If you change this, we'd race with you." type deals, and if it gets changed, those people just find other excuses for not supporting the races. But for those with an open mind, the door's always open... y'all are more than welcome to join the fun.

Back on topic... I got into Indy with a Grade 1. Was NHRA offended that I gave them money?

Gents,
Beard makes a good point about racing IHRA. You gotta' get over this "I won't race against crate motored stockers or Super Stock PBXYZ thing." At the end of the day it's a dial in type bracket race! It seems rather odd, from what's happening with the economy and the poor car counts at NHRA national events in 2008, you would think NHRA would want to make it easier and allow more racers to attend NHRA races. BUT no, they just keep pouring on the BS. Appears the little driver change fiasco which happened in SS at the World Finals bit them in the a**. NHRA should take a few lessons from Rich Christenson and his Pink's deal."Come on and Let's Race!" His deal is packing them in as is the no holds barred ADRL. NHRA, when are you going to wake up? Odd that the NHRA racers keep going back too?, NHRA keeps force-feeding spoon after spoon of "enhancement" down their throat, and they keep asking for another! - the racers make the show, not the association, when I race I'm against the best in the world. I do feel bad for the west coast racers though, they don't get the chance to go to a class race where they are thanked for their business. |

We live about 400 miles from the closest IHRA track.
We went in April of this year and raced our first IHRA event. We were treated like KINGS by everyone except a few of the competitors as we ended up in the final on Saturday. I lost 3rd round on Sunday and everyone was then a lot more friendly. It was a good experience and I will do it again as we get a chance. We would do more racing with IHRA if their tracks were closer. My 2 Cents |

Driver Change Pomona?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jim was curious how Mike Crutchfield is able to drive Lee Sharp's SS car. Mike was not entered and Lee was. We thought you can't do a driver change unless an emergency( medical or family). Lee is feeling well enough to drive comp! It was posted on SS. Again, things that make you go hmmmm. Is NHRA trying to cover their butt for some interesting calls their people are making at some events?

I think that may be just the problem..that it really is/looks as a bracket race?? to many different classes/cars...less Headsup races maybe, and you probably dont really get the feeling you are running Stock Eliminator the way you like it..with..is it 4-5 different type of classes?..maybe they should call it a "Stock combo"..well..if you look at it..Stock(and SS) racers always seem to fill NHRA-events were its "class" real fast..but then ofcourse..i could be wrong...
