Wade Mahaffey – Open trailers, a great way to advertise the sport

Wade Mahaffey started a thread on Class Racer (click here) about how open trailers were the norm when travailing to the races. A by one era that not only let us see the cool race cars, but became a car show as they entered the track. A parade of Detroit’s muscle and all the classes competing would line the road entering the gates. Those days are gone as today the norm is to protect our cars keeping them safe and out of the weather. Like the Muscle Car era, it will always be remembered as a great time for racing and heading to the track. Whether you were towing the race car with your muscle car, family wagon, sedan or pickup truck, going to the track was just plain fun.
