Default HP Adjustments - New Combo's Added

Although the HP adjustments have not been announced, some are all ready listed in the guide. Also there have been new combos added for newer cars, check the guide for your particular combo.

There should be an announcement on Thursday.

2014 560hp 5.0 CJ, woo!

Looks like some errors. One 2014 302 combo is 350hp in some places yet 330 in others, and the head casting numbers for it don't agree with the given valve size.

Thanks Ford !

However, the 3.7 V-6 Mustang ( @ 260 hp) should have been 230 h.p., IMO.

It will now be a lot harder to get that 260 h.p. starting point lowered so more racers will attempt the combo.

That N/A little V-6 needs to make 350 FWHP to run under the index.

AL..
I know the racer that turned in the tech spec's to get approved.
Think he ran close to the index on street tires.
Need to verify that.
But that Mustang has a really deep 1st gear.

Older combo's had more potential, new stuff is putting out a lot of hp/cube as it is and in this case there is no aftermarket support. This is 1.15hp/cube, older combo's started out around .65-.75 and you built it to 1.15.(that's 402hp for a 165hp 350 or 365hp for a 180hp 318 or 347hp for a 143hp 302)
Should've been 230 or less to get it out there, then hit with ahfs as it's run.

It's 227 cubes and while it's not a 2bbl 6 from the old days, at .65-.75 it would of been 147-170hp. 260 is a bit much imho.

(course we're bitching the new stuff isn't in the guide, now that it is, we're bitching about the hp! LOL!)

Speaking about hp/cube, I'm quite sure there's nothing in the guide rated as high as the 2010 mustang, 330 cube/ 636hp! That's 1.92hp per cube! Yes it's been refactored by NHRA, but wow!

Thanks Dan.

Sounds promising, but I would be interested to hear what mods were done to run those times.

I would think it would need 4.56 gears ?

5.7 Hemi, 300 HP. 12HP gift in SS & Stock I guess. I may be missing something but that's what was added to the guide.

On www.nhraracer.com, I did not see the 2014 info for the Camaro or Ford. Where are you guys seeing the ratings? Thanks.

Holy smokes, that is a street motor spec! I always have thought that this is what the guide needed, street cars gents.......3600lbs......The guys at Mopar didn't have the staff.

I think the first person to thank for this is Mr. Teuton!

Thank You Jeff and the NHRA tech!

Eric
