Stock Eliminator,,,Boon or Bane?

Is it a weight issue combined with big hp and the small tires that damages the track surface?
I’m building a stocker and haven’t experienced the 9” tires yet. I had a super street car on 11.5 tires and a super gas car on 14.5 tires and neither seemed to cause any problems with the track.
Maybe let the higher hp cars run a little wider tire. Maybe 11.5” ( if they fit ) the factory show room cars and then progressively smaller back down to the current 9” tire.
I don’t know if it would help but it should be a little safer.
