I have received 28 phone calls in the last two days from racers who felt they needed to comment to me personally. 26 agreed completely that Casey won and Troy lost, and that the DD compounded the problem by reinstating Troy. One of the other two just wanted to tell me I was wasting my time bringing this situation up to the racers on this site. The other one called Casey and me idiots and agreed with the DD. He did admit he was a good friend of the Hutzberry's. I don't think I am wasting my time. I actually feel rather vindicated. Thank you Larry for being the voice of reason here. It means a lot tome. Does this really need to be about Troy? I met Harry Huntzberry in the lanes many years ago at MRI and I'm quite sure this group knows how to race. The Division Director made the wrong call. End of story.

How many Division Directors have there been in the past ten years in all seven of the
divisions? It used to be like serving on the SCOTUS. |

Good points. In my own ignorance, just wondering if it’s in the rule book that says a competitors car must complete his run under its own power? I know sometimes there are cases where you can just take the green light and back off if you have no opponent. 🤔🤔🤔

Where is Bubski when you need him. Here's some facts to consider.
1. The race between Casey and Troy is no ones business except Casey, Troy and the DD (representing NHRA). 2. Casey, Troy and DD had a conversation at the scales and at that time NO ONE had an issue with it except 1 racer, who wasn't involved, standing near by with comment. 3. Troy personally told me that he did not check the board and that he was a big boy and if he lost, he lost. His part and fault. And he's too busy working to get caught up in this non-sense on CR (my input and not Troy's). 4. There were issues all day with DIALs. There was 1 that didn't show up and starter had to tell them dials were good after he checked. Glad we have someone who is willing to learn in the tower because if they weren't there we wont be racing. 5. DD talked to both parties involved and made the decision to put Troy back in because he felt NHRA was responsible for the issue at hand and since there were no voiced objections from either of the parties involved, he exercised his right as per the rule book. Casey knew at scales he couldn't return. 6. Would there even be this thread had the 3rd rd loser won? Probably not. Lastly - be careful about quoting rule book, rule book, rule book, unless you're squeaky clean. And we wonder why.... Volkman 412.651.2356 Last edited by Mike Volkman; 10-20-2022 at 11:56 AM. |

Now that this has happened it opened a can of worms for next time a dial is wrong. If the dial is put on board, of coarse it is NHRA's fault. So sounds like reruns galore. DD made the wrong call. |
