It is NHRA and the Tracks responsibility to to remedy the situation not John.
I do not know either of the people involved but mistakes are made and a mutual remedy can be made if everyone keeps their heads straight.
My question is if the fog was bad enough to keep the scoreboards from being seen why were there any cars even on the track.
I would have been more upset about running into a fog with a wet track than anything else.
NHRA touts safety but if you have been around long enough you have witnessed the same issue before. I ran at 8 AM in Indy a few years ago and the scoreboards were not visible from the starting line. I did not make a full pass as I was not comfortable running into a fog and not knowing what was in front of me. I lost and that was the end of the story except I have not been back to Indy since.
NHRA preaches Safety but do not always practice what they preach.

Rick, you are absolutely correct on all counts! My point was I was asking John to be acceptable to the situation and agree to the rerun as it was, given all the actual facts, it was the only right thing to do. I have no problem with John. In fact I don't believe I have ever met the gentleman. but I do respect the fact that he agreed to the rerun without making it a big deal. Jim
