Default Re: Some Head and Neck Restraint info

To follow up on the head sock rule. The neck brace acts as a fire barrier for your head in the event of a fire situation. When we use the HANS, which I have and love, you have to have some sort of fire protection for your head and face, so either the neck brace, head sock or helmet skirt will do.

I use a head sock and after you get use to it, it is not bad at all. After seeing the stocker wreck pics on here I'm not so sure we all don't need a hans device or some type of head and neck device.

The older I get the more I look at saftey issues and work on things that might save me even if they are not a rule. Like after Bob Wolkowitz wreck, my new car will have carbon fiber interior body panels in the event of the main body coming off to keep my limbs inside the car.
