I would agree street hemi B body was no hood scoop. And I also am under the impression scooped Fairlane's were SS only and a very popular dealer add on. But again, I'm no expert on Ford's!

What are "hood scoopes"? Oh, you mean hood scoops. Nice spelling.

The word "can't", as in "can not", utilizes an apostrophe.

John Dee & I ran a 67 Fairlane 4 door wagon, 427/410 single 4 barrel 4 speed car in the early 70s without the hood scoop in E/S in Div 2. To the best of my knowledge it was a SS option on the 2-4 motor only but I could be wrong. No one else ever ran a scoop on one back then either ,strictly the 427/425 hardtop SS cars. Richard Charboneau {sp} never ran one either. That was before special letters from Mfgrs existed though

Terry,
This thread has my interest. I am building a 68 Cyclone with a 428. I presently have a scoop I ran on the street, which is a stang scoop, because the Merc version is a little harder to find. The Merc is wider and taller. My question is do I have to run the Merc style? Do I have to run the ram air with it? Can the scoop be a replica(ie: easier to find and easier on the wallet)? Can the hood be a non ram air hood made to fit and operate as the ram? I appreciate all comments on this. Steve |

Haha, that would be nice! I would have a personal tutor to worry about all that stuff for me while I play football.
![]() But seriously, this isn't an essay we're writing here. I doubt even my English professor would care about perfect grammar on an internet forum. |
