Ken,
You are correct that having the entire ladder being present at once would be a loser as well. In D-3, they typically call the right & left sides of the ladder seperately through the first couple rounds to help accomodate that issue you mentioned.

Tracks such as Norwalk when being paired on the west side are a good example of why they split the call.

Amen Joe! When you start worrying about what the other guy is doing, you're already beaten! That's the problem with most whiners on here! If they would just do their own deal and run their own race, they would be much better off!

Billy.........lmfao!!!

If you run your own race the way it is suppose to be run. On time when they call you and you have to wait for a lollygagger how is that running your own race? The lollypops have total control until the track starts closing the lanes at a prescribed time. If your late your out. Fixed in a hurry.

As I said before I like going up early. I am like a kid in a candy store when I hear the call and it doesn't bother me if I have to wait. I did however get burned pretty bad once by having to wait on my competitor to show up. Those that know me know I love to cook. Well a couple of years ago at a bracket race I was cooking my famous Shrimp Danielle ( Jumbo shrimp in a white wine cream sauce over angel hair pasta) Everyone kept coming by and telling me how good it smelled and wanting to know what time it would be ready. Well I had just finished boiling the pasta and had the sauce simmering when we got the call. I hurried and drained the pasta, lowered the fire and took off. Got to the lanes and had to wait a good while for the other guy to show up. We finally get staged and down we go. Just past the 1/8 I look over and there is about ten people standing in front of my RV at the fence holding up their bowls of food!!!! I felt shafted!!! So now I still take off like a fat man in line at Ryan's Buffett when I hear the call but I wait and boil the pasta after we finish running for the day.

I'm with bl on this!! They should give us a break for the first run of the day. All of that beer we drink really affects the amount of time it takes to properly get up to the lanes.. When we do get up thare then oh snap we forgot something. So then we have to go all the way back. Now that we are getting older its going to happen more and more...

On a side note for Mr.Hill just wait in Mikes pit use his air, water and wax. You can admire his PINK car. Hell he might even invite you inside the ice box for some home cooking or what ever.. There's usually just enough parking. Don't mind the parts all over the place Chuck is just house cleaning...

Billy Leber, Bryan Worner, Keith Ohanesian,

You all have proved my previous post was correct. Originally posted by me on page 3:

Now the reality side of what happens: The plan on going to bed at say 9:00 PM goes out the window as the fun is continues. Beer usually tastes good on a Saturday night. The car has already been taken care except for the one thing that I forgot (insert anything). The food was great and friends retire. I think I'll have one more beer......................................
.....................................holy crap! Its 1:00 AM I'm going to bed........................................... The sound of the first Super Street car cranking up is the alarm clock, "Lord, do I really look like that " as I gaze at the mirror........ Wheres that Lil John..... Now, I need coffee.
OK, have we got it together, get in the car and lets go........Darn it I forgot (repeat insert).
I hope I'm on time to get to the lanes, theres not another stocker in sight as I head through the pits from the great pit space I was given, only maybe a half mile away from the starting line. At least I do not have to warm it up. Ahhh, I get there in time. That was'nt bad.
What do you mean my opponent is not here yet?

Of course for me the situation above could be on any given day. I believe if we ran our first runs at say at 10:00 AM or later it would almost eliminate the lollygagging. Everybody would be fully alert and be raring to go. That along with closing the lanes after a reasonable amount of time.

U/SA racing at 7:00 am is absurd
