Maybe the slower cars don't have to look at both sides of the tree coming down that often, so don't realize the advantage, or the distraction of the other car leaving. I much prefer leaving first.

NHRA, since I know you read this site, please take note that the only people that have a problem with this change are people in FAST cars.
If you actually read my post. I didn't whine at all, I just bought the subject up for good discussion. We are having that good discussion. I eluded to it being an excuse to not go race IHRA because if they do it, and NHRA doesn't it will be seen as one more reason for those who look down on IHRA to continue to do so.

Reading is fundamental, so is comprehension.

You and your wife are sitting on the couch with your Final Round IV practice tree. She goes red by a couple of thousands, then you go red by a couple more. Who loses then?

My Final Round IV practice tree is the worst of two evils is the loser. Most of you guys are already practicing this, just not in the car or on the track.

I know, while we're all trying too change everything for whatever of reasons. Let's take it a step further. If you red light, first or worst, or before, or after, blah blah blah! You're automatically out. No matter how bad, good, ****ty or not! So if two people paired red light, they're out!

Or, second scenario, pull up for first rd. Pair up just like time trials. Put a number on the window and run it down the lane. Whoever has the best package, wins the race. No need for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or even seven rounds of racing. Look at how much money, time, and track abuse will be saved. We can even cut down on global warming!

Quit trying to change everything about class racing to make it fresh. Gimme a friggin break!

Exclamation Re: The rumor of the day

when all the BS performance rules were dropped (duration, pulleys & pumps, brakes i can go on) fast guys rejoiced...when the weight rules were changed so everyone fits two+ classes... fast guys rejoiced...when the deep stage rule was abolished... fast guys rejoiced...when the two steps and blinders were allowed (now with better pressure switches etc.) fast guys rejoiced

BUT

when the redlight rule is addressed... fast guys now want NO changes to stock !!

That's why a red light gets trumped by a center line crossover or hitting of an outer wall (or crossing an outer line like E-Town).

Pretty sure that it wouldn't be a big change for Compulink to program into the system.

Could be interesting.

Unk
Bob, thanks for the correction, at my age sometimes the brain and fingers don't think the same.
