I like the way UNK explained it. As a slower car it doesn't much matter to me but his explanation makes sense. I like the clean tree but if it makes the fast guys happy we could mix up the colors.

I have some cars coming up on me 40 mph faster than me.Maybe we should put governors on them to slow them down.

OK, guys.
Looks like NHRA might have already had to do it at the last national(ZMax) in the comp semifinal. I was told all 4 cars redlit in the 4 car race. How did they pick Winner/RU?

Well, I was going to stay out of this because my problem is at the other end, and I really don't care either way, although I once did.....a blinder and harrington button solved my problems. A previous post asked if anyone ever won anything that supported this, and I have and I do.
The faster car has two advantages, (1) red light rule and (2) coming from behind to judge the stripe; the slower car has 1 advantage, clean tree....by changing the red light rule to worst both types now have 1 advantage. We generally acknowledge a winner that does the "best" job of driving, and I submit a .495 is a better job than a .440.....electronics and software now allow this to be implemented where earlier it couldn't. It's time to fix it. |

I See The Light!!!!!!!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi All, I posted the explanation below on 09/07/2007 and it still is the answer to the problem: ************************************************** ********************************* I just had a vision........ It's not FIRST OR WORST RED LIGHT it's who left first relative to their own lane against their own dial in. The rule would still be FIRST RED LIGHT LOSES only the lights and the lanes would be looked at separately based on the dial in. Everything would stay the same FIRST RED LIGHT LOSES. Is NHRA willing to take a giant step and right this wrong? Bob __________________ Bob Mulry 7516 STK A & M Motorsports ************************************************** ************************************************ I guess that dealing with NHRA is a lot like breeding elephants.......... Everything happens at a high level with a great deal of bellowing and it takes 2 years for results.... on the other hand, maybe never. Bob

Sounds like this could be another step towards a straight bracket racing program. The slower cars get a clean tree and the added benefit of a free red light. Heads-up will be the next item on the list.
