There is no performance advantage. It's a simple idle tuning modification.
Consider what they're actually letting pass, the rule/ruling is absurd.

A l a n, now we have no holes and with holes. Were they approved or not? Makes a big difference here the way I see it.

The "year, make, model" rule has not been enforced in at least 20 years. This is a selective enforcement of a selected part of a rule not enforced for the most part for decades. With all due respect for Wesley and Travis, that's a "fix it" violation at most. With zero performance advantage. As I stated in another post, considering what they allow to pass, this one is pretty ludicrous.

Yes, the Quick Fuel 780 as approved, accepted, and delivered, came with holes in all four throttle plates, and we were told to drive lead plugs into the openings to cover the secondary idle mixture adjustment screws.

We all want more tech. We got it. Thank you NHRA for putting forth an effort. It would suck to be DQ?d but that?s the name of the game and it used to happen more frequently. I?m all for it because with increased scrutiny maybe people will be less willing to push the envelope. I speed fairly often and most of the time I get away with it. That doesn?t mean I get to sue the officer that decides to give me a ticket.

Unrelated to the B/S question. The booster change from the truck booster in the 428 735cfm to the down booster screw all of us that had to run the 428 FE heads up in class. Thanks NHRA

Seems pretty clear to me. NHRA accepted the QF carbs but they don't want you idling off the secondary side, just like the factory Holleys were set up. Add to the fact that the rule book says ..okay to drill the primary side only...there you go .
It is a shame that it wasn't noticed 5 years ago... Everybody said they wanted more tech. Now you've got it . As far as the disposition / punishment goes...Not up to me .You guys can argue that out ;-) https://www.jegs.com/i/Quick-Fuel/79...W05YXkaAn48EAL ![]() vvvv
