It seems alot of the competitors that get tested now , where tested before. Talked to Scotty Richardson at Columbus a few years ago and he had been tested 17 times and his next comment was John Force has never been tested.Seem funny they go after the ones they tested before and passed.Makes them NHRA look good

Cool Re: Drug Testing perNHRA

I always believed that the testing was random - ( and still do ) - but then a few years ago I was picked two years in a row at the Keystones - one would think the odds are better to win the lottery...................Hmmmmmmm .

At Bonneville i drank several gallons of various water, Coke, Powerade and beer and never had to pee. And that isn't while wearing motorcycle leathers or working on a bike either.

So NHRA is saying if you can't go you gotta go.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure he was gaming the system waiting till the last minute. I've personally seen people do it, usually trying to water flush marijuana. If you are picked, and you don't take it seriously, you pay the price. My money is on him losing any apeal. He knew exactly what he was doing. I've been picked one time, and I carried my butt to the test trailer and got it done. We are all safer if these programs are kept in force, and the penalties swift, sure, and severe.

I was tested twice, first I believe was '98, then again in '03 when I was running S/G. Its no big deal, you go to the trailer, they give you a breathalizer, and take a urine sample.

My son was tested in Denver and I was in Vegas last year. I was given all the water I needed to drink and all the time I needed to produce the needed sample! The people were polite, professional, and patient.

NO JUDGEMENT HERE But...Weed will stay in your system up to 30 days depending on your level of use. You can not flush it out with fluids. You can go to GNC, buy a product that may mask the test but is not 100% fool proof. If you levels are that high you may want to seek treatment. You liver will process alcohol at a rate of APPROXIMATELY 1 drink per hour. You can flush some of it out with fluids but the liver can only proces so much at a time.

I don't have a rule book handy, but I think the random drug testing policy applies to both racers and NHRA officials and employees. If this is true has anyone known of a NHRA official being randomly picked to submit to the drug test?

Hey Dan Moore, you're #1.

Most of the tests now also look for masking agents/cleansers. Those things make a test sample "too clean" and the tests will show it.

I seem to recall talking about this when a friend was pulled for the test and a safety safari guy said he's been pulled for testing
