Hey Bob
Yes I sold everything...... it is in Iowa now and the guy runs 1/8th mile stuff. He is happy as can be and so am i.... for the most part. I paid off all my bills and i will look over the winter to get something else.... May be a race car or may be a street rod.... we will see. I will still go to the races and help who ever needs it. Are you going to Earlville?

Lee,
Earlville is to far away for an old man to drive.......... I think the street rod/show car route will drive ya crazy. Not near enough excitement (every body sits there looking at their car wondering what to polish) Hell get ya a 14.00 sec. car and go bracket racing.................. |

That is VERY easy for many people to do......but does it make sense for the $75/year or is it just principle....
NHRA needs to entice racers to want to race this crap....not scare them away with TONS of STUPID rules....could you imagine having your automobile insurance go up because someone who has a GIANT hood scoop in their race car and smashes into your golf cart and you have to pay to fix his car and spend your own money to fix your cart......remember it is LIABILITY not collision..... |

Next you'll need seat belts & a helmet.....or the pit police will give you a ticket..............payable to nhra.....of coarse............and for the guys who are legal in length and don't have a golf cart...they'll have to buy a longer trailer so they can put a golf cart in it.....but then they'll be over the maximum length law.....................anyone for hot air ballooning...?

So far at Indy everyone's talking about this. I plan to rent a golf cart and carry a 6 day binder on my insurance to cover it....and the beat goes on. I understand liability insurance and it does make sense, but skip the dog and pony show and give us a reasonable time frame to insure our stuff. Also, I think if you're paying to insure your vehicle(s), it shouldn't matter how many of them you have at the track. A scooter and a golf cart doesn't seem unreasonable.
Just my .02 cents worth.

So did anyone get caught by the Maryland State Police this weekend at Cecil County riding their golf carts / pit bikes past the curfew???? I don't remember the State Police being there last year patroling the pits putting a curfew on what time we had to be in.
