10 oh and lots of faster cars will hook fine on 9". If you cant make that work, go to SS or bracket racing until you do.

All I did was ask a question to see the reaction.
Pretty much what I thought.

Lower classes should have option of using bigger tire?
i would assume you have never been in a car with small tires running faster then in the tens? i have had several "small tire street cars" that ran well into the nine second zone with 295 65 15 tires no problems, i have a friend that has a 390 ci nitrous small block mustang runs a 275 radial street tire and goes low 8's straight as an arrow,i have had more problems staying hooked with 15X33 tires on my modified car down the stretch than anything else. so i do not think there is a problem with stock eliminator and the tire size we are running right now, it actually is the one thing that evens out the class when high hp comes into play, and as for guys being worried about cars getting loose and crashing, when was the last time anyone saw a stocker do that? and if one does ? well thats just racing !!!!

I spoke to the Ford representative at the PRI show in Orlando this past December, He told me that he was going to petition NHRA for DOT Drag Radials for Stock Eliminator. He said that the tire manufactures have put more effort into the radials and that they would be safer at high speed.

No kidding? Why don't they just actually read the damn rule book??????
Very first sentance!!!

TIRES
Street-type or drag slick tires, maximum 9-inch tread width. Tires may not be altered from tire manufacturer’s original design or pattern. Size of tire (new) must not exceed 9-inch wide x 30-inch diameter (94-inch circumference). Tires may not exceed 10 inches wide regardless of wear. Front tires must have a full street pattern and must measure a minimum of 4 1/2 inches on ground. Tire tread may not extend outside fender; maximum clearance between side wall and body is 3 inches. Slicks permitted on FWD cars. All-wheel- drive vehicles must have treaded front tires. Recapped/retreaded tires prohibited. See General Regulations 5:1.

They probably should have read it before these cars were even allowed, but that's an another subject.....

The gentleman that I was talking with is the person who brought the Cobra program to market, I have spoken to him at Indy when they had the pizza parties 3 years back. I'm sorry that I don't remember his name, but while at the PRI show, we were discussing on how fast the new 5.0 factory race car was (the new car that they where showing) and that the cars are almost going too fast for 9" tires. That's when he said that he was going to suggested DOT drag radials for stock to NHRA. I personally think the way you are thinking, leave stock alone. Go play in another palyground with new rules.

Im not a class racer(yet), but, to me, the thing that has always drawn me to Stock, is the factory parts and 9" slicks... Introduce 10.5's or DOT tires, and everything STock stands for, is lost...IMO Pretty sure IHRA allows 10.5 slicks, but, I dont know why.... I saw plenty of 140mph cars at INdy in 2011 that
didnt seem to have any problems... Far as im concerned, any new car that is factory turbo'd or supercharged, should be classified as SS or FX, with their own rules...and should run in SS... or a class called Factory Power Adder Stock... FPAS...
