10.5 Tire

When will NHRA mandate a 10.5 rear tire for stock classes?
Don't we all think these new classes are getting a little fast for 9 inch?
Lower classes should have option of using bigger tire?

After a few of the new ones crash.

They should have been put up in S/S anyway.

Not needed.

Sounds like someone wants to run their IHRA car in NHRA without changing tires.

Hoo-boy! Here we go again! Let's change the rules so that the person going 150+ on a 9" tire and shouldn't be doesn't roll his investment up in a ball! If you can't drive the car then build a slower car! Not everybody has the abilities to run Prostock or TF ya know!

X2, personally I like the fact that a slower car may have an advantage on a marginal track...if people aren't comfortable running the new cars on 9 in tires then they should run SS.

Re: 10.5 Tire

The guy who owns the new "super car" has a choice about the 9" tire and 145 MPH +. The guy in the other lane has the choice made for him.

When a car running 150MPH on a 9" tire starts to get out of shape, it won't matter who is behind the wheel.

Your asking for the end of stock eliminator and trust me it would be no sweat of NHRA to eliminate us and move us all into super stock.

Won't fit our car without the old school modifications to fender lips and jacking up the back end - which would not improve traction

:-) peace

lets change tire rule, hell why not just change all the rules to suit yourself, maybe we dont need any rules at all! All this pissing and moaning about the current ,or should I say traditional eliminator rules is gonna make me puke! Its your choice what you drive, if you need bigger tires or unobtainable parts why is that everyone else's problem? What about the poor soul who cant fit the 10.5 tire? They get minitubs now? Run in SS if you feel the need to have big tires and dont feel safe! Lots of guys going real fast on small tires in the other associations , why cant they do it in NHRA stock? Plenty of places to race these BS combos elsewhere, where they would be welcomed im sure. Why try to shove all this bogus crap down everyone else's throat ? The racers who have raced stock forever and supported the sport long before these new "saviors for class racing" came along!

10 oh and lots of faster cars will hook fine on 9". If you cant make that work, go to SS or bracket racing until you do.
