How can you say they are at the "top of the class" when the 426 Hemi in Ronnie West's GTX (previously in Fred Henson's '70 Challenger) and the paper cars ('67 Shelby single 4bbl GT 500s) display e.t.capabilities somewhat beyond what any of the 427 Cheys can run? John Cooper's '66 427 medium-riser Fairlane has also shown to be quicker, by holding the A/SA record for long periods, I believe.

I think the 396 aluminum head motor may even be faster in A/SA than a 427. at this point, although they just got hit with a little HP last month. Time will tell...

The 427 Rat is a great engine for A/SA, but not quite the fastest, in my opinion...
