Well, oversized lifters are in NHRA Stock Eliminator, just so you know.

There's all sorts of illegal stuff out there in Stock Eliminator.


That doesn't mean you should do it. Or that you can pass tech if you do.

How many of those stockers with larger than oem diameter lifters have been through teardown? and passed?

Don't know, I was helping a guy do a freshen up on his combo, got the dial caliper out, told him the lifters were oversized, he said they are fine and to finish the build, so I did and never mentioned it again.

I'm of the opinion that the tech department should put the OE lifter diameter rule in writing right now, and give everyone a year to comply, since it is a labor intensive and costly switch.
