I too have been around artillery, the 8” and 155 were platforms for delivering my weapon system. In further research, found the the reason for shortage is the conventional artillery are being replaced by the HIMARS, with a range of 45 miles which is twice the distance of a 155 round at 14.5. The furthest I have ever fired a round is with a rocket assist 8” round with a number 9 super charge…19.5 miles and was during the testing phase of the XM754 that lead to the develop of the W79.

NOTHING you stated makes it OK to tell the whole world that we are short 155s. Neither a buck private nor President should share this formation. I has to be confidential. Biden as leader of the strongest military in the world is a joke and the world is laughing at us. His drug addict, kicked out of the military son probably Making the decisions. This really strikes a nerve with me....Drafted, I turned down OCS when I found out it was another 2 year commitment. Even though threatened, I turned down OCS with a GT score of 139. (115 was OCS requirement). Stuck into infantry (to teach me a lesson)...made Sgt E5 with 13 months. Saw too many good men die only to see our country being led by weak minded, week spine morons like Biden.

Hey Sarg, take your pack off. You know why we didn’t invade Europe until 1944, because didn’t have the Ammo to support an invasion of that scope. It took the private industry 3 years to change production lines to meet the need. It will take time to ramp up production. In the interim the rest of the NATO will pick the slack. I explained “War Reserve” to you in detail. We have no shortage of ammo for our use if a conflict breaks out. Be pissed at Biden, you earned it. I am pissed at the ****bird from Alabama holding up 650 promotions and leaving the Marine Corps without a Commandant. These military men/women earned there promotions and one man has to play politics.

That *****bird your referring to is Tommy Tuberville, who happened to be my college football coach and one of the greatest and most upstanding man I've ever met. He has his reasons on what he's doing and it's not all political. He's trying to cleanup a mess.

From what I read, the dems don't want to take this to the floor for a vote. This all about posturing for 2024 because abortion funding is in the bill. So good old ??? Didn't get his military promotion even though he had time in grade and time in service. Sorry...Thousands and thousands were victims of democrat supported affirmative action. That is a union mentality and faulty. Did I ever mention that I was a registered lobbyist in New Mexico (as a registered Democrat) and a lobbyist in Texas as a registered Republican. (4 years total) I'm sure you realize that has no influence on how you vote. This is not intended to communicate that I'm smarter.....it is to let you know that most bills are not what they appear on the outside and carry baggage intended to hurt the other party or help your party in future votes.

Randy, Have you ever thought about being in the military service or even understanding how it works. All the "flavor of the day" psycho babble BS goes away when the first incoming round is fired. When you see your buddy mangled and bloody, you don't care what nationality or ethnicity they are. I spent 24 years in the Marine Corps and spent 8 years with the Navy SEALS. I have observed the training of both and they are the same kickass organizations that they were in 1972 when I stepped on those yellow foot prints. I trust you will sleep better at night knowing that there are men and women who are willing to give their lives so that you can do that. Semper fi
