Mike,
Great Post!
You covered a lot of territory.
Now if NHRA will just raise the Quota
they might take advantage of the AHFS being suspended.

Raising the quotas may be a lost cause. I was shocked Vegas didn’t feel. Rest assured they are keeping track of entries vs. quotas to justify them.

Of course they are! Because the structure of the entry system provides an easy justification for lowering the quotas every year.

Set the quota at 70, a race fills at 70, then the Monday before the race it drops down to 62...
Next year, the quota is set at 60, fills at 60, then the Monday before the race, it drops down to 53...
And so it goes...

OR, we can always use the rain-infested year as a basis for future years. Only 48 stockers at Maple Grove because it's a wash-out until Sunday morning? Huh, better set the future quota at 50!

I hear you Nick, in this case though I don’t believe it ever filled (I’ve been watching it for a 2-3 weeks but could be wrong) and the weather forecast for Vegas is great. Just figured Vegas would fill based solely on the dwindling D7/D6 opportunities.

The Vegas national event was full in Stock. Late withdrawals lowered the number, which always happens regardless of the quota allowed. Watch the double Divisional next week end, numbers will be higher.

Folks can’t imagine how much time, effort, thought, dyno pulls, track rental,
and money that was spent to get my stuff ready for Indy in the truck.

You could probably offset the cost of the truck if you got into the ice cream business. Wonder if you'd be allowed a soft serve machine in the back as ballast. LOL

It would mess up the Aero of the truck, but still a good idea.

NHRA would likely consider that "illegal ballast"! Maybe if Larry made a deal with them to be "Official Ice Cream Supplier To NHRA", a deal could be worked out.
