Meh.

If they are so set on it working then why suspend it for the one race where it may actually work?

Whatever.

Because they listened to the majority. Just wished they had done likewise on Blinders

Maybe they did, My division rep asked our thoughts on both of those items. Unless it was published, we don't know what the poll results were from each division

Sorry Jim but the poll results were obscured in our division. But maybe the majority did want it. However the rules were just rewritten this year to try and reign in some of the combo's that may be a touch soft and then the NHRA rule writers rescind it for the only race that might have racers push it.
It's contradictory. No matter what the majority wanted or didn't.
The new rule wasn't limiting participation and had more than a few combos in jeopardy. To me this is letting some of those off the hook.

It's Indy! Bring all you got and hope it's enough.

Now if NHRA wanted to see performance at its best have class winners at the top of the sheet and the rest of the field filled by further under the index for the field of 128. The Class winner that went under there index the most is the Number 1 qualifier. After the last Class winner is placed on the qualifying sheet, lets say at 45, the quickest non class winner would be number 46 and continue until 128.
Being best in class needs to rewarded, this is Class racing, and if you're the fastest of the fast you get to play too!
I forgot all class winners must run the index or quicker to race in the eliminations.

Glad to see all the guys with soft HP ratings got their wish. It just goes to show if you cry Loud enough people think that’s the majority.

This is great news for the Mr Softie Trucks to come out of hibernation
Nhra is like the government..giving hand outs to everyone including people that don’t need them
Why even have the ahfs..Indy is the only race where you would see soft combos get the HP deserved. Oh is a democracy when enough people cry.

Careful, do you trust them? What better way to set up the soft combos than to give them them a one race reprieve and keep notes for future scrutiny.
