When I said human intervention I meant have someone (preferable a human with common sense) look at the circumstance. We all know that Weather plays a big part in our sport. Surely if someone looked at Fred?s run they could have determined. That the conditions played a part in he's ET. I still believe that AHFS can work but it needs Adjustments.

Question Re: Two things that really pisses me off about todays stock elimintor

Maybe I'm missing something here, but what would be different about an Open Class A/SA and a non open Class A/SA? If you still have Heads up? Please elaborate? ( If they found a way to eleminate Heads Up's and turn our racing into all out Bracket racing, why would we still do it, or build cars to conform our cars to any rules? We could build 12 inch tire 500 CI, Power Glide (LEAVES LIKE A SLUG) Cement mixers and call them stockers and build them for an 1/4 of the price. Just wondering. We have all been bitching about tearing down cars to start to perserve some rules and our cars. Now guys are going to complain it cuts into Beer time?????

We have some pathetic little person who gets his jollies off by abusing the system and out trust.

Barry,
The best thing to do is lobby for "open" classes at national events. By that I mean, you can run in A/SA in an open category (still with the same rules) but then you would have to put a dial on the car in a race with another non-open A/SA car in the eliminator. Everything else would be the same. Open A/SA cars would run each other as heads up in the eliminator. Yeah, you could get farther up the sheet in open classes and have more fun but nhra isn't going to add any classes so I just wasted a paragraph of your time. Sorry.

Richard,
I appreciate your sense of fair play. Thanks.

I'm lost here with regards towards AHFS in both Stock and Super Stock.......do ALL RUNS (Divisional, National) count, or just National Events???

Currious---as there are some killer runs being made in Indy right now.

Todd,
An open class would be exempt from the ahfs. All open class racers would still have to conform to all the tech rules in tear down for their combination; just as if they were not in an open class.

Then in the eliminator the open cars would run heads up if they are paired on the ladder. For example an open A/SA car would runs heads up against another open A/SA car. But the same open car would have to put a dial on his window if he had to run a non open A/SA. It's sounds more complicated than it really is. Actually it's pretty simple.

Bruce, Current eliminator works like that now. No break out for heads up. The thing I see as a problem if an Open class were created it would be populated by one car in time. The most bogus. Current Heads up TOP/S and TOP/SS give Heads up opportunity and runs are outside AHFS but many combinations are being run and they are so far above the wt breaks for most bogus motors... Some ask for Jr. Stock and Low stock but thats where most factoring problems arise....Most of the upper class cars are fairly well factored evenly.

Dick,

The most bogus? You didn't read all of my post. This hypothetical class would have to go through tear down just like the rest of the classes. The open classes have more potential than the Top Stock Class because of tear down.

The ahfs will be a thorn in the side of class racers until some device is put in place to separate the racers who want to go fast and the racers who come to race the eliminator. It doesn't have to be my little "open classes" idea but these two groups of racers have to be separated in some fashion for this to go away.
