Mike I would say what happened down there in Florida was definitely some divine intervention. It looked bad for you guys and I hate seeing those pictures coming out of the Bahamas.
It looks like we faired really well here last night and most of the damage around is from tornadoes that popped up around the area yesterday evening. We actually had power until around 5 am this morning which is about the time the eye passed to our east and the winds switched around. The only flooding I know of is in the low lying areas. Storm surge was not that big of an issue like it was last year.
Overall we look good!

I just checked the NWS forecast and Epping may be effected by wind late Saturday into Sunday.

Two years ago I had bought a whole house Gen. from Gen. Tech a few weeks before the hurricane hit my area. Not cheap at $12,400 installed with a 500 Gal. propane tank buried in the ground. It was worth every penny as I had power to run everything including the A/C. My area was without power for 9 1/2 days and a day after it came back on it was shut down again so the elec. company could make more repairs down the road for another 3 days. Money well spent in my opinion. Needless to say I had friends stopping in for lunch, dinners, and a chance to cool off or take a hot shower. Never again will I live in a house without one.
