Stock hood configuration clarification

The rulebook still says full stock hood including latches, hinges, springs, brackets, and braces as originally produced must be retained. Super Stock reads the same way.

Well,how much ET is a hood latch worth?
A racer rolls up to the lanes for tech and takes his hood off,or pulls out a broom handle to hold it open. Our tech guys in D4 would turn you around and most likely tell you to never come back .LOL..

Probably not a lot........... unless you put it with your missing front bumper brackets, the aluminum radiator, master cylinder, water pump, light-weight aftermarket brakes (safety first!), chemically enhanced (or aftermarket) front fenders and hood (minus the latch), oh and your plastic dummy battery in front to go with the real, relocated battery in the trunk. And I almost forgot the super lite front wheels (with the SFI tags) that crack when you turn corners.
Probably an easy couple of hundred pounds that you can stuff in the trunk. Make sure it's legally mounted! Safety first!!!
