I know it's a little old (not much available} but what does everybody think of something like a 221 or 260 2 bbl 62-63 fairlanes, even a 260 64 falcon. That was always my pipe dream dime rocket.

Wouldn't you rather have a 302, bigger cam, bigger carb, same compression, LESS horsepower? I know I would.

318-2bbl, think I can get 300hp out of it, has it been done? I like the idea. Would put me in N-O or P depending on weight of course.

79-81 231 V6, in a G-body? More cam than 82-up, bigger valves than a 78, but mixed opinions on a dualjet? Is a 1 1/2" primary header too big?

The boosters in a Dual -Jet are part of the bowl casting, like a Q-Jet. That's your main problem ;-)

We run N O P with 318 Thermoquad @ 230 HP.
We tried 2 Brl. although did not change anything else in engine. The wagon went from 1+ under to not being able to run the index. The Thermoquad is a great carb if you take the time to understand it!
