I did trim back the flange where the trans tunnel to the firewall hangs down , then after the trans is bolted up to the engine , I jack it into place and install the trans crossmember . Its tight but it all fits . I wished that CSR would clearance the shield for the ProTrans band adjustment , and change where the buckle is for the strap , because its is wedged up in the trans tunnel , just move it down a few inches . Glad they are finally making the shields again , they were out of stock for almost a year .

Is it possible that the 67 tunnel could be different/larger than the 70? I doubt it, but know that the manual transmission cars had a larger segment on drivers side to fit the shifter, also need to know if the new design CSR shield that you purchased had a large rib across the top towards tail shaft?
