I disagree with Bob and MJ . Our sport needs people with passion and desire, also willing to support from the financial side, like Dan. The problem here is that he would rather focus his efforts on change instead of conform. He just needs to throw away his "King" of Pure Stock status and fit in, or back off.

You know James, at one time, North Carolina was IHRA country. If i remember right, you could have won a division championship and never even left your home state. IHRA did what needed to survive and tried some new ideas. They also has super stock production in addition to ps, cm, stock gt. NHRA has alot of trouble coming up with new ideas, so they just run with what other groiups find out works. IHRA had alot of good cars and drivers, and great people. It is getting tiresome hearing them put down on this forum. Personally, i think there is zero chance the ihra cars will be adopted by nhra, but the derogatory comments are not necessary. QUOTE=HR9121;549375]I'm sure Dan is a great guy and I agree he is very passionate but Dan doesn't want to conform he wants NHRA to conform to his combo. You know kind of how IHRA created PS, CM and GT classes so everyone could come out and play, well we see how that worked out for them.[/QUOTE]

Chris not putting them down just stating facts. Class racers run class cars because we like a standard of rules. I can't even remember the last time IHRA had fuel check at one of their races, in a performance based class I mean really. I can't even remember when the last time I saw a stock/ss car torn down. There were lots of factors that led to where they ended up but those are just a couple. I'm certainly not glad it happened because yes NC was IHRA territory that they abandoned to try and take a chunk put of the west.

They may have a had good cars and drivers, and great people, but they didn't have alot of them, even with all the extra classes. That's why IHRA dropped them from their program.
