I went out in 4th round and figured I filled out my name and address as Payee twice on tech card would be good if I had any round money due. I waited till last Monday and made a call to Royal Purple. Got the same answer that if you don't pick up a check that day than it is considered Void. I emailed than called Trey Capps, he said it was Div 4 policy to pay at track only but he would give the track a call??? Trey said that I have to understand that it is a business. I have a business and it has receivables and payables.I wrote a letter to the track. P.O. 1345 Baytown,Tx 77522

Let it be known on any print outs or hand outs, that if you don't pick up your check on race day, $10 s&h charge..I'll bet there won't be many left behind. Plus , on a business standpoint, that's a pretty good mark up on an envelope, a stamp, and two minutes' work.

At 2:30 this afternoon I got a call from Casey(sp?), very nice Lady and said she had good news for me. She double checked my address she had on file and said they were sending me a check. I told her to express my thanks to Mr. Angel and I would make a post on this Forum. She thanked me for being patient and I thanked her again for calling and letting me know.
If this policy for payout is going to stay in place, its up to each person to make sure they get whatever winnings due them that day. Not making excuses, but I can only imagine how busy they must be on a NHRA weekend. With all the current electronic pay system I see advertised on TV you would think that NHRA and the tracks could put that to use. Just a thought, but something DD's might look into to help the member tracks get into the 21st century, while helping competitors at the same time. There is really no reason to withhold winnings, especially with the continual cost involved for the racers. So here's hoping something can be done to streamline the entry and payout side to benefit all of us. I appreciate all the posts and email/calls Thanks again RJ |

I don't agree with the policy that's in affect, but until somebody comes up with a way to make it agreeable to all involved, it will be every racers own responsibility to make sure they get their check or make other arrangements to be paid what is owed them.
I have raced NHRA long enough to see the payout method changed more than once or twice and if all the Division 4 tracks are this way we will have to adhere to the way it is. Again, I do not agree with it and wish a better solution could be established that would benefit all parties involved. I've seen some posts from racers from other Divisions about receiving checks in the mail and also about delays/issues with getting paid. What are the other Divisions really doing about payouts, and would like to hear from some more racers and especially Track owners about this. Like it or not we are all in this together. RJ |
