NHRA open to run IHRA class cars

Those cars fit their published rules. Crate motor cars & pure stock cars do not. NHRA did have Pure Stock several years ago. And, like IHRA, had so few cars in those classes they dropped them. Still not enough of them running to bother with.

But that is not today.
Today there are CM PS and GT.
We represent half the cars competing.

Dan, NHRA does not care if you never race with them. Not enough of you guys to worry about, and don't hold your breath for them to add more classes for older cars. They don't care.

Ed, in the foreseeable future, those who remember the genesis of Sportsman racing and legions of adoring fans in the bleachers, will be on the wrong side of the grass - me included. Change or extinction, it won't matter to us at that point. I have a traditional stocker that I will run as long as it's safe for me to do so; hopefully it will have some value when I'm done.

Dave, I don't really think they care if any of us show up anymore. They have run five rounds of Super Stock already at Pomona. Five cars left. Just between round filler for the pro show tomorrow. Almost nobody in the stands when we run anyway. After the fuel cars run, the stands almost empty. Very few watch Pro Stock, pro mod, alky cars, or us. The few that watch us head to the rest rooms & food vendors when the .90 index cars come up.
I remember the early years. The first Pomona, flagmen, etc. Started trying to race (at race tracks) in 1961. We have become less important for several years now. More of a tech headache.
