2:30 update - things are going smoothly here - parking has almost everyone in and I must say that the NHRA parking staff are being very gratious to each racers needs .That said there haven't been incidents so far of rigs being or getting stuck .I've seen one or two areas that are being avoided because they are soft but for the most part the ground is rock solid .
Tech has been open most of the day and is moving right along with no holdups there or in the ticket trailer. Tomorrow is starting to look much better as they say only 20% chance of the wet stuff . Later ....

Parking was set to start at 10am and I got here at 8:45 only to see my line already moving! Hopped in the truck and got parked with no problem, smooth tech in the lanes, and even got to wax the car. Sun was out a little and never rained. I think it misted once. I think they will get this race in and the fact that about 100 cars dropped out should make things move along pretty quickly even with any rain delay, should that happen.

From someone who studied meteorology in college, any forecast for more than 3 days into the future has a diminished accuracy probability, and that probability diminishes even more as the forecast range increases. At this point, a forecast for next weekend shouldn't be taken literally.

Danny you are right, when I was in college, meteorology was in its infancy. The current computer guidance and associated technology didn't exist when I was studying. However, I stay current and up to date on all of the new technology because I have always been fascinated by the weather. Believe me a forecast for 7-10 days into the future has a very low degree of accuracy. Take care my friend, I hope that you are doing well.

The problem is we have two many weather men on this site. If you don't want to race stay home. If you don't race don't comment. The racers here ready to go racing. Thanks again for the short field and better pit spots.

A forecast for later the same day should not be taken literally.
