Slick looking. Does the seat back need to be braced to the cross bar or is that an ET/speed or class specific rule?

The seat back is fully against the cross bar. I don't know of an effective way to bolt a factory seat back to a cross bar...our Camaro is the same with factory seats.

Pull off the upholstery and make up/ weld a bracket to protrude through the back of the seat that will allow it to bolt to the bar?

The white is a bit much for my tastes but it's your car so do whatever makes you happy. A for effort.

There is very little to no metal in the seats to bolt to. Even in a '67 Camaro the seat back is merely some thin stamped vinyl covered metal attached to the back with one clip up top and two upholstery screws at the bottom. It would be a useless exercise for little gain in my opinion.

Regarding the seat back, since you have the same type of seat in the Camaro you shouldn't have an issue with track officials on the Mustang.

Unless they are really upset when you pull up with a F**d in tow....;-)

Come to think of it, I don't recall ever seeing a factory seat in a Stocker reinforced in the manner described. If someone has one or pictures of one I would like to see it.

This is out of a 'Vett forum dated 2011. Very similar to your roll bar and seat set-up. Seat back contacts the cross bar and the headrest is fixed to it by a slip pin.
