Here is faded old one of my old friend Toby Meeks D/MP car from the early 70's. Originally a converted 6 cylinder car he bought new. He salvaged the Boss 302 drive train from a wrecked car.

Started out as a street car, then insanity took over. Quoting him at the time. He got in over his head didn't really know how to make the car run fast enough. Fastest I believe the car ever ran was 11.93 or so. That was 40+ years ago, my memory is a little hazy. He parked the car in 1973 and started selling off the pieces. Used that money to start their Pinto stocker. Which ultimately turned into a much more successful car.

I believe the first Maverick belonged to Bob Bastianelli, from the east-maybe New Jersey or Maryland? The second set of Mavericks were driven by Ricky Smith, Ron Anderson, and Mike Edwards. Edwards car was the former Arlen Fadely Super stock magazine project car. Super Stock racer Bobby Rashid used to own the Jim Stevens maverick but not sure if he still has it.

Carl Holbrook had this car in his shop in the early 90's. Bobby Rashid still owned the car.The car was for sale. A young lady and her dad bought the car. I believe they were from Illinois. I saw the car one time after that at a Super Ford meet at Milan. The car was nice with silver paint and the stock cloth bench seat. It was a steal by today's prices. If my memory is right, I believe $3000-$3200. Coulda, woulda, shoulda.
