It was done at the original US Class Nationals in 2001. The ladder was printed out on 6 pages, and cars were called one page at a time. It seemed pretty orderly to me, as I recall. Even with 128 cars, they don't call all of them to the lanes at the same time.
We had the same "All-Run on a Sportsman Ladder" program at the Auto Meter Northern Class Nationals. We have Nitro Joe. ![]() That being said, do I expect Indy to change? No. If we can grow our program enough, I'd consider making the Class Nationals 128-car fields, and have a "Duck Race" S/SS Combo for non-qualifiers, but we have more flexibility, since we only run two classes. Just thinking out loud. Indy is what it is. I'm one of those slow guys that can't even enter with a prayer, but I'll probably come out one day to watch.
