This is because of the new rule that you can only run combinations that don't exist in classes that don't exist.....

Exactly, that's why the 2013 mustang with the powerstroke is in SD/C and SD/CA. Personally I think the 400hp factory rating is a little high and it should actually be a SD/D or SD/DA combo.

edit: Just realised that SD is for naturally aspirated diesels, should of been SDT/C and SDT/CA

Upon my own research, I have gathered that the 405hp engine for GT was previously rated the same as the regular LS1, but the 405hp version has only one casting number for the head. This casting number is not the same as any other LS1 engine. Therefore this makes this combo different than the others. Is there 90hp more in this head? Absolutely not. However, it is listed with only one casting number for the head.

Jimmy, isn't that the Vette LS6? 405 is the factory rating, I believe. If so, it should be stick-only, like the 1996 LT4 Vette engine. Different cam. The differences are moot for an S or SS engine. No reason to use it.

Mr. Ed,

This is the Z06 engine. It should be manual only.

No more than is different when you take away the cam and factory exhaust and air filter box, that contributed to the advertised 405 hp not much is left in race trim. Can't imagine anybody using one, can you?
