QUOTE Are they going to accept the current 5.0 mustang in pure stock? Have a friend in San Antonio that may want to try his hand at it.[/QUOTE]
If IHRA uses the NHRA Weight (3400) and HP (380) ratings the 2011-14 5.0 GT cpe is a player in B/PS at 3420 + 170lbs. (12.45 index) Locally here, there is a '12 5.0 auto that runs in B/PS trim impressively at @100lbs heavy. Only mods so far have been headers/exhaust system, DOT radials, air cleaner and a custom tune. Kudo's the to HRA's for finally putting these showroom cars into the guide..

Hello all!
Had a great weekend with my daughters new family. Epiphany is being called grampa! I think Pure Stock is going to bloom this year. Especially all the new cars Classified. Have been pounding this issue on other blogs. Seems the management has heard us. Just hope IHRA keeps Pure Stock.....err Pure! No new Springs or Cam rule changes. Leave it alone and the Class will take its own course! D |

Hello all.
Been getting several emails about PS today. Good questions too. The new Classifications seemed to spur a lot of interest. Answered all but wow! IHRA has a market advantage if they capitalize on it Hope they leave the rules alone! D |

Just dont forget to try to get together with Mike Baker when you can connect with him and let him know what yourself and others want Pure Stock to be. Try to explain the cam rule and how it will mess up the class without some sort of restriction. You sound like you are a good "Champion" for the class. If I can help in any way just let me know.

I vote to leave the rules the same as they are now. Dan, thanks for all that you are doing for us.

Cannot say any names. Some in IHRA wanted to do this. Others said No. I gave Norwalk a thorough opinion gracefully. Was told my actions created a lot of discussion. After the holidays they were going to discuss it. Over the holidays other M&T PS racers got feedback from IHRA insiders and said make sure nobody does anything yet. I think they are following our conversation. Need to ask the Moderator if he will have a vote. Keep the rules the Same. Or Change the rules. Get a consensus.. IMHO it is clearly No Changes! 75% of pure stockers have illegal cams. IHRA does not have the specs or the time to check them. That is why they had to change the rule.
