I worked with him at the Rod Shop in the late 80's. His cylinder head design launched the Pontiacs into Pro Stock.

I was getting ready to say I thought he raced with Butch Leal for the Rod Shop in the early years. We are loosing alot of the history of the sport lately

This was a shock. Dale Eicke was absolutely one of the best in his day and indeed was involved in the very first leasing programs.

Many may not remember that he was the one who stepped into the Mopar deal after Wayne County - a no-win situation for sure.

He received a serious head injury after being upended by a scooter in the pits at Memphis one year. It didn't seem he was ever the same.

As others have mentioned, another Pro Stock titan is no longer with us. Rest in peace, Dale.
