Dale Eickie passes
Dale Eickie passed away Friday the 2nd of a heart attack and stroke. I don't know how many of you know who he was but he was a very respected head porter and Pro Stock engine builder. He has been employed by Brad Kline's Dream Chaser racing. I hope that all of you will keep his family in your prayers.

Sad deal. He was a very talented man. I wasn't aware he was working at Brad's.

Re: Dale Eickie passes
Just today I was thumbing through an old "Super Chevy" mag from 1996 and saw him in a A.R.P. add. Couldn't remember if that was the era when he and Steve Schmidt worked together or not. He was a big part of the early days of Pro/Stock rental engines. Correct?

Re: Dale Eickie passes
I worked with him at the Rod Shop in the late 80's. His cylinder head design launched the Pontiacs into Pro Stock.

Re: Dale Eickie passes
This was a shock. Dale Eicke was absolutely one of the best in his day and indeed was involved in the very first leasing programs.
Many may not remember that he was the one who stepped into the Mopar deal after Wayne County - a no-win situation for sure. He received a serious head injury after being upended by a scooter in the pits at Memphis one year. It didn't seem he was ever the same. As others have mentioned, another Pro Stock titan is no longer with us. Rest in peace, Dale. |
