Once a car pre stages the other car has 45 seconds to pre stage. Once a car stages the other car has 7 seconds to stage. Or does the starter have total control over the pre stage time? Want to know how it works for future incidents if this happens to me.

Never heard of a pre-stage timer, but I believe you get 10 seconds to stage in most of the sportsman classes and 7 seconds for the pros.
