Perhaps the folks in Milford can dig deep and find, in someone’s barn, the original 3-speed crashbox out of the Monster Mash 55 Chevy Stocker?

I mean…all the other COPO vehicles have that 50+ year old Powerglide in them.

By the way, General Motors, if you wish to know how to make a crashbox out of those ancient transmissions, there are still folks out there that know how.

I'll bet they got a pretty good handle on it. I went 9.70's at 141 with a stock 6 speed untouched in my camaro at 3451 pounds and never broke it! These copos can probably run 8's n/a in good air. I'll bet the stick will absolutley fly!!!

I'm betting there will be Liberty's in those cars.

You might lose that bet as I believe that the stick Copo cars are coming through with G Force transmissions.

As per a earlier posting the manual transmission Copo Camaros will have a G-force G101A 4 speed with 293 / 186 /133 /100 ratios. A Long v-gate shifter, 10.5 Ram adjustable clutch, 25 lb. Ram flywheel and a Ram hydraulic throwout bearing ..

I think Tim Hyatt got the PO from GM to supply the clutches, maybe 50 or so. He might know what are going in them for sure.

My guess is, he saying the G-Force will be removed and replaced with a Liberty! Too bad they didnt come out that way.

Ross, I gave credit to your posting as you know that's where I got it. Not for nothing ,for 11,000 more I personally would buy the auto sell off the parts and buy a Liberty box with a different clutch setup then what they are giving you. Just personal preference. So are you having a good time with yours ?
