A couple of ideas come to mind: maybe a" perfect light " award, a "dead on" award (like the strange award).

How 'bout picking numbers for 1st rd. pairings. 1 runs 1 2 runs 2 ect....

If you're going to pick numbers...you might as well use a qualifying sheet. Random pairing seems to work fine with a ladder after the first round or two. If the classes are split at next years race....a qualifying sheet and ladder might work well.
