Combo in the Hills 3 Idea's
Good Morning Guys & Gals!
Well as most of you know Lee & Brian are off to explore the world of Pro Stock racing for the 2013 season. With that being said they will not have the time to put the effort to do another Combo in the Hills event next year. I've asked Lee & Brian about taking over the race since I personally didn't want to see it fade away and the graciously agreed. So with that being said I will be working hard on a 2013 version of the Combo in the Hills event and your feedback is important. Now rather you came to the first event in 2010, the one this year or both please give us some feedback as to what you would like to see in the near future. I look forward to working with all of you and keeping the Combo in the Hills Name alive for years to come! |

Re: Combo in the Hills 3 Idea's
Really the hardest part will be trying to find a date...haha. With Epping coming into the mix with a National Event next year Leb Valley has to go somewhere because Epping will be on top of the LV Date as of right now. I found out last year putting the 90 Race on top of Bowling Green D-3 race was a big No-No even though a Hurricane had other idea's....lol. It really won't all come into play until the schedule is released in Sept / Oct. I assume that E-Town will prob move around in the National Event Dates and with Epping into play not too many people will have to travel down to Bristol / Charlotte to claim an extra National (Even though they will). Then you have all the associations (ECSSA, ASRA, MASGA, MASCA)....boy good thing I have vacation coming up...haha!

Re: Combo in the Hills 3 Idea's
Mike,
A few of the 90 Guys said the same thing to me. If you offer up these big $$$ events all the "Heavy Hitters" are going to show up. I was kind of taken back by the comment but, these same people are the ones that enter National Events where even more "Heavy Hitters" are entered. I mean what am I supposed to tell Pete Biondo or Jason Kenny, sorry guys you can't run this event cause you have a single digit or double digits on your car...lol. In my own opinion "Any Given Sunday" anyone of us can pull there car into the winner's circle rather is be by luck or flat out the car was deadly. The S/G winner had 3 red-lights in 5 rounds. |

Re: Combo in the Hills 3 Idea's
Thank you Rob for taking on this event, even if your a .90 guy.... lol
This race will be another success i'm sure. A couple of ideas come to mind: maybe a" perfect light " award, a "dead on" award (like the strange award). How 'bout picking numbers for 1st rd. pairings. 1 runs 1 2 runs 2 ect.... |

If you're going to pick numbers...you might as well use a qualifying sheet. Random pairing seems to work fine with a ladder after the first round or two. If the classes are split at next years race....a qualifying sheet and ladder might work well. |
Re: Combo in the Hills 3 Idea's
Pete,
All great idea's that I have thought about. We did a few things with the .90 Guys this year... Dan Northrop put up a $100.00 to whomever took out John Asta in eliminations Crane Came put up $250.00 GC to the 1st drive in each class to run a 90.0 & win Jiffy-Tite gave away a GC to the #1 Qualifier Motorsports Innovation (Racepack) gave away a GC to the #1 Qualifier in each class I mean I'd be all about doing things to increase the interest for this race in 2013. If someone wants to put a little extra cash up for "Perfect Light In Elim" "Dead On Award" "Long Distance Towing award" "Whomever takes out the previous champ of the CITH in Elim...sorry Byron". I'd like to make this a worthwhile event but, in the meantime still keeping it Racer Friendly. In my mind it's still about the racers...you are the ones who choose to come to these races and spend your money. My job is to make sure you have fun, I give you a worth while product for your $$ and you all leave with a laugh, chuckle or smile on your face and say "that was a great race". Of course you won't make everyone happy but, you can't blame me for trying" as the world famous Bill Bader once said. So if someone wants to jump on board for one of those awards or make up your own award and put the cash up I'd be more then willing to include it into the prizes. For those who follow Facebook we now have a new site set-up and I should have a website within a few weeks. |
