Liteweight good eyes because I totally missed that...it looks like he cut & trimmed the whole rear wheel well body line out on the Hemi Barracuda.

That SSE designation stands for Super Stock Eliminator, AHRA's heads-up Super Stock (i.e., Pro Stock) class which debuted in 1969 one year before NHRA followed suit in 1970, and would explain the quarter panel wheelwell opening alterations on Don's Barracuda.

That’s gotta be a different sanctioning body. Looks like “AHRA” on the ‘Cuda sail panel. The Olds in the other lane has a hood that definitely would not have been allowed in NHRA.
