Then Jason Line knocked him down to 2nd by a hundredth.

Last night the announcer said Alan Johnson has run extremely fast in pre-season testing before then appeared to struggle to match it when the season starts.

Wouldn't it be nice if NHRA made the driver wt 200# (170#? Anyone flown this century?) and if you are below that you had to add it at the seat, not move it around the car for extra weight distibution?

That's my point about Pro Stock in a nutshell. It has strayed too far from the original concept.
Sure we can learn from Pro Stock and NASCAR for that matter as this is where the technology trickles down to even Stock Eliminator.
Who wins means very little to me.

They learned from NASCAR. Mental Intercourse. Must be a course not offered when I went to school. But then I was in lunch line when the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria pulled up.

Warren used to call it intellectual intercourse.

I think it funny that so many people think that it makes sense to waste money running the car light when you won't learn squat from it and that is not going to help you going forward.

Here's some food for thought for you guys, in the threads I have read where former Pro Stock racers or current Pro Stock racers have commented in response to the Mopar team "supposedly" running the car light, both have denied that claim stating that its a waste of money and time to do so. Not to mention, nobody is running their A motors out there anyway. At best these are probably the #3 or #4 engines.

Testing is meant to do one thing, learn how to tune the car better and learn whether new experiments work or not. It just so happens that when these guys run in winter, the weather is perfect. 700DA are not common conditions for PS cars to run in and as such you don't see super duper fast runs at events during the year. And when they do get great weather, its usually not as good as winter test session weather. Englishtown is a great example. It was on the verge of being too cold and the cars were spinning on a regular basis. Only a few got a handle of the track. Not to mention, there are not near as many cars going down the track during testing. Honestly, you would probably be better off going to some 1/4mile bracket event or PBIR(w/ the fuelers) to test cause conditions are a little more realistic.

The run was impressive and it was better than the rest on those days but 4 big names were not there and Vegas will be the real test to see who gonna do well at Pomona.

Well said - exactly what I have been saying

Why waste the valuable and precious time?

Weight distribution is very very important and even 40 lbs would make a difference in clutch and suspension set up

Weather and altitude wasn't the same, way more cars running down the same track which does not always help traction so how can you compare ET's from testing to the winternationals. Have any national records even been set in PS at Pomona in the past few years?
