Gateway is a possibility but as you noted the mileage could be a problem for me it's 230 mi and for the guys in the Chicago area you can add 60 to that so your getting close to 300 miles one way.
But it is a pretty good road
You never know, I'll ask Kwas if he has had any contact with them.
I'm thinking that the new management team may need to get it's bearings before we can contact them.

Gateway is a great track and for me it isn't that much further than RT66 or Cordova. I understand it is difficult dealing with these tracks and I wish you all luck in setting up your schedule. I hope that I have the opportunity to race more often this season and therefore can actually run some of your races. I guess my opinions don't hold much weight since I never even made it out to run with you guys last year. LOL

For what its worth... I hope they don't have so many races at Byron this year. Last year they could have almost called it the Bryon Super Comp Association. Again, just my opinion and since I don't run with you guys that often, take it for what its worth. I also understand that you have to take what you can get and if Ron and BJ are willing to work with you then I can see why it worked out like that.

Your statement “I guess my opinions don't hold much weight since I never even made it out to run with you guys last year. LOL is simply not true, we do value your opinion if you race with us once a year or fifteen times a year.

Regarding Byron, Ron and BJ they have consistently worked with us from the very first MWSCS race and would have us there every weekend if we wanted. Resultantly most of our racers (my self included) love racing there.
When we need to fill a spot in our schedule we usually think of them first.
But we as an organization cannot allow our series to become the “Byron Super Comp Series” as it’s just not fair to the guys who tow from the Cordova, Joliet/ Chicago and Wisconsin areas. And as we discussed earlier we need to continue to expose more racers to our type of racing.

Bill, I truly believe you! However, I think my point was that I don't want to be that guy that has an opinion about everything but never comes to the races. I hate that. LOL I understand that you have your whole membership to satisfy and that I am just one person. Just wanted to make sure you knew I was aware of that.

Thanks!

Rick,

Bill mentioned that the membership complained that Earlville was too far of a tow for most of them. I would love to go back there. The only complaint I had that weekend is that they didn't prep the track very well and I had trouble making it down. Even Jarod was spinning the tires in the dragster. At the Division race the track was great though! I think Bill just needs to spend more time on the track if they are going to have some faster cars there. Otherwise, great facility and great people! I would love to see another MWSCA race there.

Billy, I,m just guessing here but I would say , for the most part, most of your membership geographically lives in the north central area ie; n. ill, s. wisc, and Iowa. And by that, looks like once you got all that areas super racers as members your growth will stop.
However, by extending out to other areas like st. louis, Indy, evansville maybe to get a larger market area the org would have to grow in numbers.

Yes travel is a real consern for all right now (no matter how deep the pockets are) .
But what also a consern is the bad taste that racers are getting with NHRA and all that bull.
Racers would conseider other venues if they were available.........

Just my 21/2

My bad! The MWSCA didn't run at Earlville last year. This was the season before last. Sorry, they all start to blend together after a while.
